Please let  us know how many brochures and posters you'd like for promoting the SKATE program within your local youth hockey association, schools and communities. These are offered to registered associations as part of the registration fees.  For a quick preview of last year's forms, go to our "Forms" page and download the design. Once you know how many qualifiers you have, please let us know how many you'll need!

WE SALUTE OUR PARTICIPATING ASSOCIATIONS IN 2008-09

S.K.A.T.E. is proud to acknowledge each of the youth hockey associations that will participate in 2008-09. We've already been notified by a few newcomers (such as Hibbing and Eveleth) that they are interested in joining the SKATE family.  We will soon release our 2008-09 associations, but if we missed anybody, don't hestiate to let us know!

Welcome To Skaters Keep Achieving Through Education (S.K.A.T.E.) !

The S.K.A.T.E. program has become one of the most successful initiatives in youth athletics because it enjoys the universal support of young hockey players, parents and youth hockey organizations. The lifeblood of the S.K.A.T.E. program are the hundreds of volunteers at the local level who help to organize, activate and execute the program for the kids in their respective communities.

As competitors, young players set goals for themselves on the ice and in the classroom. Like the cheers they hear for goals, assists and good hustle, they respond positively to recognition and reward for their performances in the classroom. The fact is, 99% of youth hockey players will never play professional hockey, so the idea of placing greater emphasis on education makes sense.

We invite every youth hockey organization in America to participate in the S.K.A.T.E. program. It's fairly easy to implement and history shows that it attracts outstanding support from players, coaches, parents and corporate sponsors.

NOTE TO YOUTH ASSOCIATIONS AND SKATE COORDINATORS FOR 2008-09 SEASON

A personal note of thanks to all of you for your patience and understanding these past few months as we make adjustments to the management of the program. For a number of reasons, we're off to a bit of a late start but things are coming together for the 2008-09 season.  We are working on streamlining the program so it is a more turn-key, easy-to-run program at the local and state level.  We owe our continued success to the youth hockey volunteers and their continued commitment to emphasizing academic performance amongst young hockey players. I can't thank all of you enough. If anyone has questions that need to be answered immediately, please don't hesitate to call my home SKATE office at 763-208-0730 or my cell phone at 612-804-9717. Please note that I'll be working on S.K.A.T.E. primarily before and after normal work hours.
